In the latest episode of Bardolatry, we discuss magic as it’s found in three of Shakespeare’s plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Winter’s Tale, and The Tempest. There’s a lot of meta discussion as the playwright as the true wizard and plays being a spell but we also delve into fairies, strong female friendships, and the differences between magic cast by man and nature. This episode does contain one or two instances of language that’s NSFW, but otherwise it’s pretty safe, as long as you are a total Shakespeare geek and want to listen to three people talk about it for almost an hour.

(By the way, for anyone who’s curious, the essay Gabs refers to at the end of the episode can be found in Shakespeare After All by Marjorie Garber. You should also really, really check out Were the World Mine.)
